TNCF is back !

Hey guys ! Yep, that's true, we're back ! It's simple, the reason of our absence : there was no much news about The New Cities in these last few months and we didn't have enough time to make some posts about it. But NOWW, there is some action with The New Cities! In fact, recently the guys has been working really hard to make new songs and finally jumped in the studio YESTERDAY to start making their second album ! Blake Healy, past member of Metro Station, is gonna be their producer. You can see him in this "LiveChat" from Twitcam here. The New Cities had also made an other videochat that you can check by clicking on the link below :

Hey guys! I was surfing on Youtube to bring you up new videos about The New Cities and stopped on these two videos. It's two different covers of Leaders Of The Misled on the drums. It seems like a pretty complicated beat and they did a really good job! So, I'll let you guys watch these! :)

JUNO and SOCAN awards

Okay, maybe the guys got less luck for the Junos, but their smiles came back 2 days ago! The New Cities were nominated for the popular rock/pop song most played on Canadian radio in 2009 with Dead End Countdown at the SOCAN awards and guess what?? You got it right, they won! :D So proud of our guys right now ! :) Here's a picture of them with Greg Nori and Matthew Brann with their prices :

The New Cities nominated at l'ADISQ & new shows

Hey everyone ! We forgot a really important thing to post, so you guys may all already know, but our favorite guys has been nomited at l'ADISQ ( a big Quebec award show ) for the Anglo Album Of The Year ! You can also find in this categorie : Bobby Bazini, Champion, We Are Wolves and Nikki Yanofsky. IMPORTANT : If you want to watch this award show, make sure that you watch the right one! Because indeed, there is two different show, the first one called "L'autre Gala" is where they congratulate mostly the Albums and people who work for the artists. The New Cities will be in this show and it will air on November 1st on Musique Plus and Musimax. If you want to watch the other too, it will air on November 7th on Radio-Canada.

Official : Looks Minus Substance music video!

It's official, the next music video of The New Cities will be "Looks Minus Substance" ! And guess what?! The shooting starts TOMORROW! It will take place in Montreal and will be directing by their good friend Jonathan Desbiens , who also directed "Dead End Countdown" and "Leaders Of The Misled". David will also be co-directing, let's hope he won't screw it up! Haha , just kidding! We're sure that he's gonna do an excellent work ! :) Stay tuned for pictures and more sneak peeks!

New video?!

Back in May, Julien and Dave did an interview on MOD and announced that the next single would be "Looks Minus Substance". Now about three months later, a picture was tweeted on The New Cities twitter account saying "Dave scouting for a setup place for the next video.. Might not be a bathroom though! ". Hopefully this means a video coming very soon!! As always, we'll keep you posted!

Okay! I know it took a while hence the lack of time, but it's now done! Here's the translation of the interview of Dave and Nick when the guys stopped at Musique Plus before going in Toronto for Vans Warped Tour. You can also watch the interview here !

R- The guys are coming.
D- On the spot!
R- That’s live television!
D- Ahhhhhhhh!
R- Come on big boy, we’re gonna stand up! We tried to find a good spot in front of your tour bus. You guys came to see us, like I said sooner, you guys are doing a “bathroom break” in Musique Plus before to go to Toronto for the Vans Warped Tour. And there is some of the others guys that decided to stay inside, because it still really hot and we got the AC.
N- For the first time.
D- We got the AC in this beautiful tour bus too !
R- The other guys are inside, and you are late! *talking to Nick*
*laughs*
D- Nick was so hot, he didn’t have any t-shirt and jeans left. He said to himself: “Oh my God! I need to dress up for the tv!” . Is that true ?
N- I did that fast !
R- You did that really fast! You did it like a big b... I was gonna say like a big boy, but the guys over 6 feets hear that really often ! Guys, Vans Warped Tour ! As soon as the interview is fisnish, you guys are going to Toronto!
D- Yep!
R- It takes place tomorrow and Saturday, it stops in Montreal, a half-hour set. How do you prepare for that, mentally ?
N- Sunscreen! Little bottles of water!
D- I bought a little pack that you can put your little bottle of water in it so it stays fresh to your belt.
N- Or in your back.
D- You’re talking about the Camel Pack.
R- Or there is the hat that you usually put beer on it, but we could put water!
D- But, we move a lot, it wouldn’t be a good idea. Le Camel Pack, I’m buying it! You hide it in your shirt, the straw close to your mouth! *do the sounds of drinking*
R- It’s good that you guys are prepared because it looks like there is a lot of festivals for The New Cities this summer!
D- Actually, what does suck and what is fun by playing outside is that, when it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful! But, when it’s raining, you have to deal with it, and ‘til now, all the festivals we did, it rained..
R- No?! *surprised*
D- Ya, but it always stopped at the right moment! There’s always a little stress. There is Sherbrooke that is coming!
N- Sherbrooke the 14th!
D- Nations of Lake with Kaïn, I think it’s confirmed.
R- “Gibelotte” festival! You guys are going almost all over the province!
D- I’m going to ask you fast question Rej, what is “gibelotte”? I don’t know.
R- That’s a really good question!
D- There is the Cheese Festival, I understand that, it’s cheese. Blueberry Festival. But what’s “gibelotte”?
R- Oh! I was told in the ear that it’s a boiled with fish!
D- Mmmm...
R- You’re gonna be there!
D- Ya, we’re gonna be there for the “gibelotte” and the people in Soel! Mister vegetarian! *points Nicolas*
R- But what is great is that you guys are going to Toronto, we wish you, well, if you guys had already a little bit of rain, it’s because now we had some 45 degrees for a week, let’s hope it won’t be like July 10th on last year at Warped Tour, total flood! We wish you a beautiful and warm and fun day to play here in Montreal!
N- Warm, like semi-cloudy. It’s always the best. When I was going there every year, you were happy when there was some clouds, ‘til it started raining..
D- Just a little cute sun!
R- Sometimes, just a few drops to refresh, but just that!
D- Just a few, about for 10 minutes maximum.
R- For all the tour dates, because we talked about that since the beginning, you can visit the The New Cities’ website. All the dates are there, there are going almost everywhere in the province. Guys, thank you infinitely to came to refresh yourself, to do a little pee-pee in Musique Plus and have a good way to Toronto and then a good way to return in here in Montreal!

Hey everyone! We're not gonna bore you with long explanations of why there hasn't been a post in over a month. Point is, there hasn't and we're sorry. Things are kinda slow in the TNC world right now, and we've been busy. But to be completely honest- we've really let this blog go down. BUT! We're bringing it back up! We'll be posting at least twice a week. Wether it's new news, old news or just little things you may not have known about our favorite boys!
